Background storyFor the "50 years in service" anniversary celebrations 2008, Fighterbomberwing 32 colours after 10 years again a jet with a special scheme. 20 years before that, the celebrations for the 30 year anniversary together with a big air tattoo were canceled because of the Ramstein desaster. Also during the 40 years celebrations 1998 a desaster happened. A few days before the planned air tattoo a fast train crashed in a terrible accident and because of the services for the 101 dead, held on the same day as the air tattoo was planned, it was again cancelled by higher headquarter. July 2008 while leaving the Cologne main station the axle of a fast train broke and the train derailed. Nobody was hurt.
This remarkably colorful design came out of the feather of the painter and designer Daniela Weitz, who is working under the pseudonym "Delahé"
